The classic deadlift is easily one of the best exercises for functional strength yet often gets labelled as one of the lifts only powerlifters should do. Performed correctly it is the most basic movement of lifting something heavy off the ground. John O is a dedicated OPT client who trains with us 3 times per week for a number of years now...so long that his workout binder keeps growing. His dedication has allowed him to hit many milestones such as his first full chin up , 277lbs back squat and recently a 408lbs deadlift. This video clip from this past weeks shows him easily moving 398lbs off the ground. Way to go John O!
